Small Business packaging ideas | Creative ways to use wax seals in packaging

We love showcasing how our customers get creative with our products. Today's spotlight is on small businesses in our community who use wax seals to elevate their packaging and products.

COOKIES & BAKED GOODS PACKAGING

KEEP THE TWINE/ Ribbon from sliding off the box by wax sealing it in place

Flour Cloud Sweets is a small business located in Hastings, Mornington Peninsula, VIC, that makes delicious cookies and sweet baked goods. Their cookies are creatively decorated, perfect for gifting and almost too pretty to eat! I love how the clear packaging keeps the focus on the goodies inside, while the trimmings complement each box's colour scheme, and add that final touch to a gifting moment - a package that is beautiful inside and out!

To see what the latest sweet treats are on offer, visit Flour Cloud Sweets on FB or IG @flourcloudsweets

CALLIGRAPHY ARTWORK PACKAGING

LET YOUR CALLIGRAPHY BE THE MAIN FOCUS WITH A SIMPLE BLANK WAX SEAL + DRIED BOTANICALS

Jen started her small calligraphy business in the Philippines in 2015 under the name 'Freckles and Ink'. She was doing workshops and commissions for weddings and personal clients. After moving to Australia in 2017 and a two-year hiatus to finish her postgraduate studies, she rebranded to Jen Miguel Calligraphy. She specialises in pointed pen calligraphy and digital calligraphy. At the moment, she is slowly building her small business juggling it alongside her 9-6 corporate job. She is currently accepting personalised commissions and will soon be launching a digital calligraphy collection available for purchase on her website.

EMBROIDERY & TEXTILE GOODS PACKAGING

MAKE YOUR BUSINESS CARDS STAND OUT BY WAX SEALING IT IN PLACE AT THE FRONT OF THE PACKAGE

Chloe Robson is the needle artist extraordinaire behind the brand 'Painted With a Needle'. The way that she creates depth and colour gradation in her work shows finesse and a fine attention to detail. Her stitches look so perfect that I would never have guessed that she stitched them all by hand!

Chloe can hand embroider basically any type of clothing, with t-shirts and pullovers being the most popular items. Designs can be totally customised however she is also working on creating a few standard designs that she will launch soon. In Chloe's words, "Embroidery is like painting only with thread as paint and a needle as the paintbrush!"

Graphics design packaging

REFLECT THE THEME OF YOUR DESIGN WORK IN YOUR PACKAGING BY MATCHING THE WAX SEAL TO YOUR DESIGN CONTENT

Maria Ppiros is a graphic designer and botanical illustrator based in Adelaide who loves to create unique work in business branding, event stationery and botanical illustration. With a University degree in Design, she is currently conducting research at the University of South Australia on the use of botanical illustration in fostering pro-environmental attitudes and loves to incorporate her research into her practice whenever possible! She is passionate about helping people – whether that involves executing their dream invitation design, capturing the essence of their business in a logo, or depicting flora to help the public develop pro-environmental attitudes. In Maria's words, she says "Yet whatever work I am doing, I love using Fiona’s wax seal collection to elevate the elegance and sophistication of my packaging!"

CURATED GIFT BOX & HAMPER packaging

CREATE CUSTOM PACKAGING BOXes by layering stylish elements such as printed belly bands, stickers and wax seals

A Stylish Box designs and creates unique gift boxes for all occasions. The products inside are hand-picked from Victorian small businesses, as a big part of their ethos is supporting other small businesses who create their products with as equal love and care as A Stylish Box does. All of the products in each box are tried and tested before being curated into the perfect bundle. In Rochelle (the founder)'s own words, "its not just the products that make a gift. I believe its the 'extras'. The little finishing touches that can make a gift a true memory... It's very personal, and I believe that gifting is an art."
